Bearcat Booster Club Meeting
Thursday, April 8, 2010

Booster Board Members Present: Dan Edmonds, Pat Haynes, Jerry Lutz, Jon Baldwin, John Yates, Michelle Drake, Linda Girard, Bob Rice, John VanCleave, Allison Strong Hoffman, Teri Harr, Jim Goecken ; Ex-Officio Present: Mark Clements; Guests Present: Courtland Ingram

President Baldwin called meeting to order.

Rice motioned and VanCleave seconded to approve the minutes of March 11, 2010, motion carried; Treasurer's report - Clements reported $31,370.52 in General Fund with no outstanding commitments, and $60,929.06 in Transportation - Rice motioned and Lutz seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report, motion carried

Old Business - Vehicle Fleet Update - Clements reported that two 2010 Ford Fusions were purchased from Tri-State for the price of $29,750

New Business -
A. Track and Field request - Courtland Ingram presented a request for the purchase of two 15'6" poles for pole vault ($1,845), two discs for discus throws ($398), and one women's javelin ($314) for a total of $2,557 with free shipping

AD Report - Clements reported Stephanie Martin, assistant athletic director/senior women's administrator, will be leaving Northwest May 7, replacement announcement will be made April 9; Northwest softball will be hosting MIAA Crossover Tournament April 16-18 (all MIAA schools round robin tournament) and Northwest will be playing on Friday and Saturday; Baseball are schedule to play on April 9 and 10 against Southwest Baptist; Football scrimmage will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, April 11; tailgating and parking for football were not on the Board of Regents April 8 agenda; Northwest hosts a track meet on Friday, April 30 and needs help with field events

Other Business - Membership levels - discussion on limiting number of ticket purchases by amount of Booster Club membership; concern about names on chair seats at stadium; discussion on membership premiums; there will be 5 levels of membership - Pride, Bearcat, All-Conference, All-American and Championship; Rice motioned and Lutz seconded to set the Booster Club Membership levels at $100, $300, $600, $900, and $1200; by a show of hands and a vote of 6 to 5 these levels were adopted

Actions Items -
A. Track and Field Request - Hoffman motioned and Drake seconded to provide $2,557 for the purchase of the requested track equipment; motion carried

Lutz motioned and Yates seconded to adjourn; motion carried. Next meeting will be May 13, 2010.
