Bearcat Booster Club Meeting
March 12, 2009

Board Members Present: Steve Sutton, Jeff Otte, Jon Baldwin, John Yates, Jerry Lutz, Ray Courter, Linda Girard, Pat Haynes, Jim Goecken, Allison Strong, Robert Rice; ex-officio: Mark Clements and Stephanie Martin; guests: Kelly Quinlin (Athletic Training) and Anna Tool (Volleyball)

President Lutz called the meeting to order.

Yates motioned and Baldwin seconded to accept the minutes from the February 12, 2009 meeting and the treasurer's report, motion carried; Clements handout showed $19,644.30 available in General and $66,196.06 in Transportation..

Old Business - The Sports Information request for a computer server and accessories for a cost of $4900 was discussed. Will be handled in the action items.

New Business -
A. Athletic Training Request - Quinlin requested dollars to send three trainers to Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas; total needed is $1815
B. Volleyball Request - Tool asked for a portable projector so they could use it wherever they were; total needed is $550
C. Vehicle Fleet - Clements shared the mileage information on current athletic vehicles; suggested we get rid of 2000 Plymouth Neon and get another car and 12-passenger van; van basically same as what we currently have and will cost $20,415; the Chevrolet Impala is $16,683.18

Other Business - none

Athletic Director Report - Clements reported Lincoln has been admitted to MIAA and will have full participation in Fall 2010, except football which will be Fall 2011; schedule for 2011 and 2012 will mean new homecoming dates; MIAA Baseball tournament will grow to 6 teams in 2010; two men and one woman in track and field have qualified for nationals; Spring sports in full-swing; Russ Northup will be acting Compliance Officer while Stephanie Martin is on maternity leave

Action Items -
A. Sports Information computer server - Strong motioned and Goecken seconded to provide $2450 to assist with the purchase; the motion carried by a vote of 7 to 4
B. Athletic Training - Haynes motioned and Sutton seconded to give $1500 to assist with travel to conference, motion carried unanimously
C. Volleyball Request - Rice motioned and Yates seconded to provide $550 for the purchase of a digital projector for volleyball, motion carried unanimously
C. Vehicle Fleet - Baldwin motioned and Otte seconded to provide $37,098 for the purchase of a 12-passenger, 2009 Econoline van and 2009 Chevrolet Impala; motion carried unanimously

Sutton motioned and Strong seconded to adjourn. Motion carried. Next meeting is April 9, 2009.
