Bearcat Booster Club Meeting Minutes
Thursday, January 12, 2012
Booster Members Present: Board – John VanCleave, rod Barr, Bob Rice, Pat Hayens, Linda Girard, Allison Hoffmann, Jon Baldwin, Dan Edmonds, Jim Goecken; ex-officio – Mark Clements, Scott Nielson
Vice-President Rice called meeting to order.
VanCleave motioned and Hoffmann seconded to approve the minutes of November 10, 2011, motion carried; Treasurer’s report - General Fund is $49,287.95, after pending expenses of $13,150 ($5,720, Baseball; $1,816 Track & Field; $5,614, Baseball/Softball) and $76,178.60 in Transportation, with a pending deposit of $10,000.00 – Baldwin motioned and Barr seconded to accept the Treasurer’s Report, motion carried

New Business –
- Weight Room – Clements presented for Quinlin, need to replace some weight lifting bars due to bending – current capacity is 1200 pounds and would like to purchase 4 power bars to increase capacity to 1600 pounds for a cost of $1160; also need to replace 4 exercise balls for a cost of $107
- Vehicle Fleet Update – Clements reported that we need to begin looking at replacing 2 vans (1998 Dodge 12-passenger and a 2003 Ford 15-passenger) and a car (2005 Dodge Neon) due to high mileage; Nielson and Clements will start looking at options
Other Business – Clements announced that this is his last official meeting; Nielson will take over
AD Report – Clements reported – basketball going on; spring sports have started practice; track is headed to Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday (1/13/12) and Saturday (1/14/12); men and women’s basketball play Southwest Baptist on Saturday (1/14/12); Northwest will host Special Olympics basketball tournament on February 4 and also an event in the spring; Spring football game tentatively scheduled for April 14; Wren Baker and Lori Hopkins are at the NCAA convention; the MIAA Post-Season Tournament will be March 1-4, 2012 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City
Actions Items – Baldwin motioned and Barr seconded to provide $1,267 to purchase power bars and exercise balls for the athletic weight room, motion carried
Baldwin motioned and VanCleave seconded to adjourn; motion carried. Next meeting will be February 10, 2012.
