Annual Bearcat Booster Club Meeting
January 11, 2007
Board Members Present: Pat Haynes, Jon Baldwin, Jeff Otte, Dan Edmonds, Ray Courter, Teri Harr, Linda Girard, Jim Goecken, Jerry Lutz, John Yates, Mark Gregg; ex-officio: Mark Clements; guest: Dave Colt
President Harr called the meeting to order.
Edmonds motioned and Otte seconded to accept the minutes from the October 12, 2006 meeting, motion carried; Girard motioned and Baldwin seconded to accept the treasurer's report which was reported by Clements as: $18,921.59 in General, after approved expenses, and $37,144.06 in Transportation; and $3,425 in Zech Fund; motion carried.
New Business -
A. Athletic Training Request - Dave Colt presented a request for $1750 in assistance in sending 4 graduate assistants to Anaheim, California for the NATA Annual Symposium. After discussion, this item will be handled under Action Items. In addition, Colt thank the Board for their past support in assisting with these trips and for the equipment we have provided which serves all athletes.
B. Vehicle Fleet Update - Clements reported that we have lost the 2000 Neon in a wreck (no injuries) and are looking to replace a minivan that has gone kaput; there is a possibility that there may be a vehicle in the University fleet that can replace it; Gregg motioned to allow up to $2,500 from the transportation fund to purchase a used vehicle, if investigation of resources in University fleet are not available, Lutz seconded, motion carried.
Athletic Director Report - Clements reported that the proposal to divided D-II football into 2 divisions (schools with max of 36 scholarships and schools up to 24 scholarships) failed by a vote of 124 to 29; campus has held a meeting on putting lights and turf into the stadium, possibly by Fall 2007, if funding is available by a certain date; Fall schedules currently show Football with an open date of September 1, with 5 games at home and 4 away plus Arrowhead; there may be a few dates that conflict with Soccer and Football both being home on the same day; Volleyball has 10 to 12 home dates scheduled with a big tournament involving 5 schools September 7 and 8.

A. Lutz motioned and Otte seconded to provide $1750 for travel expenses to assist 4 graduate assistants in their travels to Anaheim, CA for the NATA Annual Symposium, motion carried
Goecken motioned and Girard seconded to adjourn. Motion carried. Next meeting is February 8, 2007.
