Northwest drops game one of series against UCO

EDMOND, Okla. – Central Oklahoma put up four runs in the first three innings and the Northwest Missouri State baseball team was not able to recover as they lost 6-1 in a nine inning affair Saturday.

Austin Warren got the call for the Bearcats on the mound today and went 7.2 innings giving up 11 hits, three earned runs, one walk and posted three strike outs. Warren was tagged with the loss and moved his season record to 0-1.

The Bearcats scored their only run in the third inning when Ryan Abernathy knocked in Luke Lawyer with a single for his first RBI of the season. Abernathy collected two of the team’s three hits on the day.

Northwest moves to 2-9 on the season and 2-6 in MIAA play. The Bronchos and Bearcats will meet up again Sunday four a double-header scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
