Bearcats-Lopers move series to Topeka
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State baseball team’s home opener against Nebraska-Kearney has been moved to Topeka a day earlier due to predicted inclement weather in northwest Missouri.
The Bearcats and Lopers will travel to Topeka, Kan., for a double-header at the University of Washburn’s Falley Field. The game has also been moved to Tuesday to try and escape the winter weather expected for Wednesday. First pitch of Tuesday’s double-header is still schedule for noon.
Northwest stands at 1-5 on the season and 1-2 in league play after taking the series opener at Northeastern State. The RiverHawks swept Sunday’s double-header in an offensive outburst from both teams.
Nebraska-Kearney enters at 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA after a series win against Lincoln. The Lopers split Saturday’s double-header with the Blue Tigers before outscoring Lincoln 12-9 in the finale.
