Baseball postponed until MondayMARYVILLE, Mo. – Sunday’s MIAA doubleheader between the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats and the Washburn University Ichabods has been postponed due to impending weather in the Maryville area.
The doubleheader has been rescheduled for Monday, April 30 with first pitch of game one at Bearcat Field set for 1:30 p.m.
Northwest enters the doubleheader with a 14-30 overall record and a 13-21 mark in conference play while Washburn currently sits at 22-20 overall and 18-16 in the MIAA.
The Bearcats are still in the hunt for the MIAA post-season tournament as they are currently five games out of the sixth place, and the final tournament spot, with six games remaining in the 2012 season.
Chris Green is expected to take the mound for the Bearcats in game one. Green enters the contest coming off one of his best outings of the season at Pittsburg State in which he threw seven innings while allowing just four hits and striking out six. Green has a 2-4 record on the season and has recorded 32 strikeouts.
