Changes to baseball weekend schedule

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats’ baseball team’s four-game series with the Pittsburg State Gorillas has been adjusted due to rain in the Pittsburg area.

The Bearcats’ nine inning game on Friday has been cancelled and instead Northwest will play back-to-back double-headers Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s double-header is slated to begin at 1 p.m. with Sunday’s set for a noon start.  Both days will see a seven inning game followed by a nine inning match-up.

The Bearcats currently sit at 14-24 overall and 13-15 in MIAA play while the Gorillas enter the four-game series at 14-23 overall and 10-18 in conference play.

Northwest and Pittsburg State are both battling for a spot in the post-season MIAA tournament with the Bearcats currently sitting in seventh place in the conference while the Gorillas are currently sitting in ninth place.  Fort Hays State currently holds the sixth and final spot in the tournament with a 19-18 overall record and a 16-15 mark in conference play.
