‘Cats to play SBU at home Sunday

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Saturday’s MIAA doubleheader between the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats and the Southwest Baptist Bearcats has been postponed due to impending weather in the Bolivar area.

The doubleheader has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 15 and will be played at Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo. with first pitch of game one slated for 1 p.m.

Northwest enters the doubleheader with a 13-23 overall record and a 12-14 mark in conference play while Southwest Baptist currently sits at 16-19-1 overall and 11-15 in the MIAA.

Northwest and Southwest Baptist are both battling for a spot in the post-season MIAA tournament with Northwest currently sitting in seventh place in the conference while Southwest Baptist is right behind the Bearcats in eighth.  Fort Hays State currently holds the sixth and final spot in the tournament with a 17-17 overall record and a 15-14 mark in conference play.

Chris Green is expected to take the mound for the Bearcats in game one.  Green enters the contest with a 2-3 overall record having struck out 22 in 37.2 innings of work this season.
