Bearcat baseball opens fall practice
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team opened its fall practice schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 7 under sunny skies and perfect weather conditions. While opening day is still five months away, players appeared excited to begin preparations at Bearcat Field.
"Our fall schedule gives us a tremendous chance to see both our returning players and new faces compete in both practices and intra squads," head coach Darin Loe said. "We have a strong group of veteran players mixed with a tremendous recruiting class and it will be exciting to watch us come together this fall. Finishing the fall with competition against two very competitive Junior Colleges will give us a great chance to measure our progress over the next month."
The baseball team will practice twenty-four times this fall with the highlights of the schedule being several scrimmages held. All fall scrimmages will be at Bearcat Field and begin noon.
