Heath Stein joined the Bearcat baseball coaching staff in 2011 as the team’s graduate assistant following a standout career at Grand View University.
Stein was a member of the Grand View University baseball team from 2007-08. Prior to attending Grand View, Stein attended Iowa Central Community College for two years.
While at Iowa Central, Stein was an all-region player as a sophomore. Stein also helped lead the Tritons’ to a seventh place finish at the Junior College National Tournament in 2006.
In Stein’s two-year playing career at Grand View University he was named an all-conference player each season and was also named academic all-conference, as well as a team captain, in his second season. Stein became a student-assistant for the Tritons for the 2009-10 season as well.
A native of Harlan, Iowa Heath helped lead the Harlan Community High school baseball team to three state tournaments and a coveted state title in 2003. Stein has since helped coach at Harlan including coaching a team which was a state runner-up in class 3A.
Stein holds a degree in physical education from Grand View University. He is pursuing a master’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic administration from Northwest.
A former infielder, Heath currently works with the outfielders and hitters on the Bearcat baseball team.
