Bearcats picked to finish seventh
KANSAS CITY, Mo.--The Northwest Missouri State baseball team was selected to finish seventh in the MIAA preseason baseball coaches' poll, announced by the conference on Monday. Defending conference champion Central Missouri was the unanimous favorite.
The Bearcats, who garnered 61 points, finished 20-34 last season and 18-20 in the MIAA. Northwest qualified for the MIAA tournament on the last weekend of the season by winning three-of-four against Washburn to earn the sixth-seed, and went 15-7 down the stretch.
Emporia State received the lone other first-place vote, since coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. Below is a complete list of the poll:

8. Washburn - 60 pts.
9. Pittsburg State - 43 pts.
10. Southwest Baptist - 28 pts.
11. Truman - 21 pts.
12. Lincoln - 14 pts.
