Bearcats Split on Day Two
Maryville, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State split the second doubleheader of a four-game set with Southwest Baptist Saturday afternoon at Bearcat Field. Northwest won the first game 4-3 and dropped game number two 6-1, snapping its five-game winning streak.

Jayson Huett would come in to pick-up his third straight save of the series for the Bearcats in the victory.
Landinn Echardt had a two RBI single in the first inning to get Northwest on the board first. Jeremy Tate picked up the win for the Bearcats. Tate pitched five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and struck-out two SBU batters.
Northwest's attempt at a sweep was dashed in game four as SBU would have a two-run second and three-run third inning in the win. Echardt was 2-for-3 with a run scored in the game, Joe Kankovsky went 2-for-4 and Luke Lavicky was 2-of-3. Eric Mitchell got the start on the mound for Northwest.
