Bearcats Fall to Sixth-Ranked Central Missouri
WARRENSBURG, Mo.-Sixth-ranked Central Missouri got a four-run bottom of the first inning and three runs in the seventh to help defeat Northwest Missouri State 8-2 Friday afternoon in Warrensburg, Mo.
Evan Connell went 1-for-3 for the Bearcats with an RBI. Landinn Echardt picked up a sacrifice fly RBI in the top of the ninth to give Northwest its second run of the game. Matt Stice went 1-for-4 in the ball game with a run.
Jayson Huett picked up the loss for the Bearcats. Huett pitched six innings giving up five runs on nine hits and striking out one batter. Kenny Brengle and Nathanial Horton pitched two innings of relief giving up three runs, none of them earned and two hits.
Northwest (2-10, 0-1 MIAA) will continue its four-game set with the Mules Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
