Preseason Baseball Poll Released
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The preseason MIAA coaches poll was released Friday, with Northwest Missouri State picked to finish seventh in the league by it's coaches, with an accumulation of 47 points. Two-time defending champion Emporia State, who is also preseason No. 1 in the nation and last year's national runner-up, was picked to win the conference.
Emporia State received nine of the 11 first-place votes, with Central Missouri receiving the other two and was picked to finish second. The Bearcats finished last season in eighth place with a 15-21 conference mark.
Northwest begins the 2010 season on Feb. 14 in Alabama as the Bearcats will face the University of Montevallo. The Bearcats will open with their first 11 games of the season on the road.
