2009 Hit 'em and Hold 'em Baseball Alumni Weekend

Maryville, Mo. -The 2009 Hit 'em and Hold 'em-Northwest Missouri State baseball alumni weekend was held Sept. 5-6 at Northwest.

The weekend began with the second annual Golf Outing at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course. "A" flight winners were Dr. Bob Boerigter, Neil Elliot, Jeff Foot and Donnell Robidoux. "Championship" flight winners were Jake Bradshaw, Jacob and Mitch Clevenger and Todd Schonhoff. The women's flight winners were Kelly Boock, Brenda Johnson, Lisa Loe, Sarah Rice and Kelly Quinlin.

The winner of the "Pete Rose Homerun Challenge" for the longest drive with a baseball bat was Bill Disselhoff.

Many items were bid on at the end of the day at the silent auction, items included:

KC Royals artist print to Rod Auxier. Holiday Inn Express/Gift Certificate at A&G to Scott Walk. Texas Rangers batting practice top to Jon Henne. Texas Rangers team jacket to Jon Henne. Northwest baseball team fleece to Brian Kever. Northwest baseball team batting practice top to Chuck Driskell. Northwest baseball team jacket to Todd DeAngelis.

Saturday night was the 1st annual poker tournament. 27 players total entered the tournament. Dan Sherbo was the winner, Kelly Quinlin placed second and John White finished in third.

On Sunday the annual alumni baseball game was held at Bearcat Field between the baseball alumni and the 2009-10 Northwest Missouri State baseball squad. A homerun derby was also held during the day as well. The age 30 and over champion was Dan Sherbo and the under 30 winner was Ryley Westman.
