Nick Pfeiffer led off the inning with a base hit and scored on a Luke Lavicky single up the middle to put Northwest in the lead. After blasting a solo shot in the top of the seventh to give the Bearcats an 8-7 lead, Kirsch hit a three-run shot in the eighth to account for Northwest's final runs.

Jacob Kemper (3-2) worked around a double in the bottom of the eighth to pick up the win. Kemper, starter Bill Disselhoff and reliever Trent Kohlstedt each logged 2 2/3 innings in game one.

Senior hurler Bret Harvel tossed the Bearcats' first shutout of the season in the nightcap to earn his team-leading fourth win of the year. He faced two more than the minimum, allowed three hits and struck out four while walking none.

Another three-run homer from Kirsch came in a four-run, fifth inning for the Bearcats. Kreed Kurtz was 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the fourth. Disselhoff and Chris Benham also drove in a run for Northwest.

Pfeiffer led Northwest with four hits Saturday and has hit safely in all five starts he's made since an injury sustained in mid-March. He went 7-for-15 and scored 10 runs in the four-game set with Southwest Baptist.

Northwest hit .355, scored 44 runs and committed just one error during the series. The Bearcats wrap up the 2009 season at home with a four games against Pittsburg State next weekend.
