Bearcats Drop Five-Run Games to Ichabods

TOPEKA, Kan. - Northwest Missouri State struggled offensively and combined for 10 runs and only one run in a doubleheader sweep by Washburn today at Falley Field. The Ichabods claimed both games by five-run margins at 6-1 and 5-0.
Kreed Kurtz extended his hitting streak to a team-leading and career-best eight games. Kurtz went .333 today and improved his season batting average 14 points over the four-game series.
Bill Disselhoff went two-of-three at the plate in game one for his first multi-hit performance in 11 games. He also had his first extra-base hit in the last 10 games with a double in the fourth inning.
Jeff Gradel, Jr., made his first pitching start of the season in game two and went three and two-thirds innings with a pair of strikeouts. Christian Dekker made his fifth start in game one and went four innings with three strikeouts.
Up Next: Northwest will enjoy Spring Break along with the rest of student body before hosting a four-game series with rival Missouri Western March 27-29. First-pitch for the single, nine-inning game March 27 is 3 p.m.
