Warmer Weather Ahead for Bearcat Baseball
MARYVILLE -- The Northwest Missouri State baseball team will begin its annual spring trip in warmer southern climates on Sunday, Feb. 24. The Bearcats will start a three-game set with Arkansas-Monticello at 2 p.m. on Feb. 24 before traveling farther south to Pensacola, Fla.
Near the beach, Northwest will lace up the spikes versus the University of West Florida on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. for one nine-inning contest. The Argonauts took all four games from Northwest a season ago, but lost their top two hitters and are just 5-6 on the young season. On Feb. 27 Northwest will play a doubleheader (2-7's) against UWF at 3 p.m.
The Bearcats will wrap up the spring trip with one nine-inning game against Christian Brothers University on leap day, Feb. 29, at 1 p.m. The Bucs have already played seven games and have four more scheduled before meeting Northwest. Christian Brothers was picked to finish seventh in the Gulf South (West Division) Conference Pre-season Coaches Poll
