Northwest Beats Montevallo Today
MONTEVALLO, Ala. - (stats) The Northwest Missouri State baseball team fell in the rubber match yesterday afternoon against the University of Montevallo, 12-7.
The Bearcats scored three first inning runs, however the damage came against Northwest in second inning when the Falcons scored eight. Montevallo again answered the call as they scored another four in the bottom of the third.
Senior Travis Fouts (Peck, Ida.) takes the loss pitching 1.2 innings, giving up seven runs, all earned, walking two and giving up seven hits. Fouts falls to 0-2 on the year, while Montevallo's Jeremy Joyce picked up his third win on the season.
Offensively for Northwest, they were led by junior Sergio Davila (Douglas, Ariz.), who had three hits and four RBIs.
The Bearcats fall to 2-5 on the season, while the Falcons go to 9-8 on the year. Northwest returns home on Wednesday, against Rockhurst, game time is set for 1 p.m. for the home opener.
