Baseball Makes Top 40 in Preseason Poll

MARYVILLE, Mo. - For the third time in as many years, the Northwest Missouri State baseball team is in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) preseason poll.

The Bearcats are ranked No. 36 in the preseason top 40, after coming off of a 34-24 record in 2005. Northwest joins No. 2 Central Missouri and No. 39 Emporia as the only Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association schools in the poll.

Last season, the Bearcats were ranked No. 36 and No. 29 in the 2004 CBN preseason poll. In the past three seasons, Northwest has won over 30 games each year and has compiled a 104-64 record.
