Bearcats Defeat Truman for 30th Win

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State won both games of the doubleheader today versus Truman to add up 30 wins this season. The Bearcats took the Bulldogs into extra (9) innings in game one and came out on top, 3-2. The second game came easily to the 'Cats, 11-4. Northwest is now 30-17 overall and 17-5 in the MIAA which places it one game behind Central Missouri State in the conference race. Truman fell to 10-28-1 overall and 3-20 in league play.

The two winners on the mound for the 'Cats were Mark Lewis (2-2) and Jacob Taylor (4-1). Pat Whitt continued his powerful hitting with three hits in game one and Britt Westman followed in his steps with three in game two.

The first win today marked Coach Darin Loe's 100th conference win at Northwest.

Northwest will host Southwest Baptist this weekend for a three-game series. They will play a nine-inning game on Fri., Apr. 29 at 3:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sat., Apr. 30 at 1:00 p.m.
