'Cats Earn Doubleheader Split With Ga. College & State
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The Northwest Missouri State baseball team earned a doubleheader split with Georgia College and State this afternoon at the Armstrong Atlantic Invitational in Savannah, Ga. In Game 1, GCSU came back from a 4-0 deficit to grab a 6-4 win while the Bearcats rebounded with a 6-5 come-from-behind victory in Game 2.
Jeremy Tapps was hit with the first game loss for the 'Cats as he came in relief of starter Brett Bognar. Cameron Dodd compiled two hits, two RBI and one run scored.
Northwest notched four runs in the final three innings in Game 2 to salvage the split. Mike Babb and Pat Whitt each went 2x3 with two runs batted in.
Northwest will again face Ga. College and State tomorrow (Tuesday) but this time at GCSU's home turf. The one nine-inning game is scheduled for first pitch at 3 p.m. CST.
