MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Two Northwest Missouri State University baseball players have been honored for their academic and athletic achievements by the College Sports Information Directors of America. David Dugan was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII First Team Thursday. Dugan, a senior pitcher from Kansas City, holds a 3.57 grade-point average and is a pre-medicine major. Dugan Led Northwest with an 8-2 record on the mound. He compiled a 3.28 earned-run average and was a First-Team All-MIAA selection. When he wasn't pitching, Dugan played first base. He batted .333 with eight home runs. Meanwhile, Kyle Gallagher was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Second Team. Gallagher, a junior outfielder from Bellevue, Neb., has a 3.39 grade-point average and is majoring in management information systems. He batted .322 with eight home runs and 41 runs batted-in. By virtue of being named to the Academic All-District First Team, Dugan will now advance to the national ballot for consideration as a CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee.
