110 Bearcats earn MIAA academic honors
MARYVILLE, Mo. – One hundred and ten Northwest Missouri State student-athletes were honored by the MIAA for hard work in the classroom as a part of the league’s 2011-12 academic awards announced Monday by the league office.
A total of 58 student-athletes earned MIAA Academic Honor Roll status finishing the academic year with at least a 3.00 GPA and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
The Bearcats also saw 12 student-athletes receive the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award, which is given to those who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors.
An outstanding 25 Bearcats earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete honors by posting a flawless 4.0 GPA for the year: Alicia Watson (volleyball), Amy Majors (volleyball), Tori Beckman (volleyball), Ashley Thayer (women’s basketball), Alexi Boeh (women’s basketball), Candace Boeh (women’s basketball), Kate Walter (women’s track and field), Adrienne Cornelius (women’s track and field), Camila Quesada (women’s tennis), Emily Hoffman (women’s tennis), Alexis Bartek (women’s tennis), Calvin Patterson (men’s tennis), Rachael Schmitz (softball), Jordan Gadbois (softball), Breah Sanders (soccer), Nathan Johnston (baseball), Geno DeAngelis (baseball), Ryan Meyer (football), Josh Lorenson (football), Chad Kilgore (football), Trevor Adams (football), Brittany Poole (women’s cross country), Heidi Johnson (women’s cross country), Steph Katzer (women’s cross country), Katti Carroll (women’s cross country), Chloe Wichmann (women's track and field) and Alexis Boyd (women's track and field).
