This week in Bearcat Athletics

Northwest Missouri State baseball will travel to Lincoln for a four-game series this weekend, softball hosts a pair of doubleheaders against Missouri Western and Emporia State and track and field heads to Iowa for one of the country's most famous meets, this week in Bearcat Athletics.
Bearcat baseball (17-25, 16-20 MIAA) continues its stretch run for post season play. Northwest currently sits 1 ½ games back of Washburn for the sixth and final spot in the MIAA Tournament. Northwest will head down to Jefferson City for a three-day series with Lincoln (12-25, 11-25 MIAA) beginning with a nine inning game on Friday. It will be the Bearcats' final road games of the season. Northwest is coming off of a tough series at Washburn where it lost three-of-four.
Northwest softball (23-13, 12-4 MIAA) is coming off of a sweep of Truman over the weekend and will host a pair of tough conference foes on Graduation weekend. The Bearcats host rival Missouri Western (33-10, 13-3 MIAA) Friday and 14th-ranked Emporia State (35-10, 14-2 MIAA) comes to town Saturday. It will be Senior Day for Northwest on Saturday against the Hornets.
The Bearcat track and field squad will travel to Des Moines, Iowa this weekend for the 102nd Drake Relays. The relays is one of the most prestigious and famous relays in the country. A total of 115 events will be featured during the four-day meet.
This past weekend at the Kansas Relays, Eric Rickert provisionally qualified in the shot put with a throw of 53-1.5 and finished ninth. Kayli Hrdlicka placed second in the 1,500 meters at the meet, running a time of 4:45.31.
