Northwest Missouri State Athletics Unveils New Web site
MARYVILLE, Mo.-The Northwest Missouri State athletics department is proud to announce the unveiling of its redesigned Web site housed at www.northwestbearcats.com. The redesign includes a plethora of new features including a new banner, a new look to individual bio pages, a listing of recent headlines and a rotating series of photos highlighting upcoming events and promotions.
Also included in the new features are a set of tabs located directly beneath the top stories of the day. The tabs feature high-traffic Web sites and make those items more easily accessible to fans. Included in the first revealed set are links to guest columnist David Boyce, ticket information, the new DII student-athlete resource site and Northwest's new online store.
Some features remain similar but with visual upgrades. The schedule and results section, for example, will continue to be a resource for fans to utilize on game days for easy access to links for live stats, webcasts and video. The main headlines remain in the same location but a larger space for photos is provided.
"I couldn't be more thrilled with the product we were able to produce to further promote our coaches and student-athletes and for parents and fans to enjoy," said Bryan Boettcher, Northwest's Director of Media Relations and Sports Information. "The talents and creativity of Northwest's marketing team, designers and technology staff should be commended. They truly went above and beyond in exceeding our expectations.
"Special thanks to web masters Crystal Ward and Tim Lindsey, publications assistant Kim Ziegler and Northwest photographer Darren Whitley and their staffs along with student assistants Kelsey Larson and Brandon Guffey. Their ability to create this look saved the department from investing thousands of dollars in an outside company."
Northwest athletics has attracted nearly a quarter million unique visitors to its Web site in each of the last three years. In addition, the athletic department's Facebook and Twitter pages lead the MIAA with nearly 5,000 fans and 1,000 followers, respectively. Morris White, Northwest's Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions, has been the leader of the Bearcats' social media integration and was a major contributor to Northwest's new look.
"Northwest athletics is committed to utilizing all forms of social media to reach every type of fan on whichever type of platform they prefer," said White. "Our job is to stay on top of the trends and incorporate any and all new communication tools that our fans utilize. With these tools and the enhancement of our Web site, Bearcat fans will be able to get information instantly, no matter where they are."
