Northwest Honored for Excellence in Marketing
Orlando, Fla.-For the third consecutive year, Northwest Missouri State earned at least one award for excellence in athletic marketing and promotions. Northwest won the silver award for a soccer radio commercial as announced at the 18th National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators Annual Convention. The commercial was produced by Dan Engle of Eagle Radio.
"This year's recognition was special because the radio commercial was written and submitted by the co-soccer manager of our internship program, Robyn Reinig," said Northwest Director of Marketing Morris White. "We are excited about our continued success. Our goal is to continue to be among the best in the country in athletic marketing and promotions."
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 13 categories with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. Northwest competes in group three which is comprised of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA institutions and junior colleges across the country. A total of 700 entries were received for the 2008-09 year.
Only one submission per category was allowed this season, a change from previous years, which helped produce a true 'best of the best' concept.
