Basketball Games to Have Live Video Stream for 2006-07 Home Conference Season
MARYVILLE -- Northwest Missouri State is scheduled to have its 2006-07 men's and women's basketball home conference games live on the internet with video streaming, a new feature for Bearcat fans. Penn Atlantic, Inc., will provide the feed for the live video coverage. All home Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) games will be available beginning on Jan. 3 against Missouri Western with the women starting at 5:30 p.m. and the men to follow at 7:30 p.m. There will be a total of nine doubleheaders scheduled and the cost is set for $8/game -- if you are interested in watching a doubleheader, the cost is $16 and requires you to log back on to your account.
The web site to get video streaming and set up your account is www.pennatlantic.com. The MIAA is contracted to work with Penn Atlantic and have all conference games live on the Internet.
Fans can get a FREE preview of this service on Monday, Dec. 4 as the Bearcat women take on St. Mary's (Texas) at 5:30 p.m. and the men host St. Mary (Kan.) at 7:30 p.m.

What are the minimum system requirements for watching games?
You must have a DSL or cable modem connection to the internet to watch our broadcasts. You must have at least a 600 Kbps (kilobytes per second) of download bandwidth. Most cable services provide this minimal bandwidth. Some DSL services do not. You need to check your service performance with your local Internet Service Provider. Your bandwidth can be determined with our bandwidth checker, which we require you to run before registration. A Pentium III computer is required with at least a 700 megahertz processor running Windows XP and 256 Mb of memory. Penn Atlantic cannot guarantee delivery on computers running Windows 95, 98 or ME. XP by default has Windows Media 9 or 10 installed. You don't need to install any additional software. If you are using an Apple Macintosh you need to download the Windows Media Player for Apple Computers and install it.
Penn Atlantic only supports Internet Explorer, but other browsers might work. Due to possible firewall configurations at America Online, you may not be able to connect to the games with AOL.
When viewing a game, if the Windows Media Player continues to buffer or reconnect, or shows only a frame-by-frame "choppy" feed, there may a problem with your available bandwidth. The broadcasts are streamed at 539Kbps and you must have consistent access to 600Kbps or higher bandwidth to receive a reliable, high-quality video feed.
How do I register and pay for the games?
You need to create a login on the Penn Atlantic site. This will enable you to select the game you want to watch and also allows you to input your credit card information. Game prices vary by school and sport. Penn Atlantic does not store any credit card information on the web site. Your credit card is not billed until 24 hours after a game. "Penn Atlantic" will be listed in the transaction description of your invoice.
