No. 7 Football (4-1 / 3-0 MIAA)
- Northwest and Pittsburg State meet for the Fall Classic at Arrowhead VII, set for Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. from Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium.
- Northwest is 4-2 in the Fall Classic, winning last season's contest 37-34 in overtime.
- Both teams have been ranked in the top 10 in eight of the past 10 meetings and both teams are the last unbeaten teams in MIAA play.
- Northwest is facing it's third top-10 opponent of the season in the Gorillas. The Bearcats have never faced three top-10 teams in the regular season in program history.
- The Bearcats posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 1984 with a 42-0 victory against Nebraska-Omaha Sept. 27.
Volleyball (6-11 / 3-3 MIAA)
- Northwest continues its four-match road stretch at South Dakota Oct. 2. The Coyotes are in transition to Division I.
- The Bearcats are 12-3 all-time against South Dakota, winning the last meeting between the two in five sets in Bearcat Arena.
- Amber Ryan led the Bearcats to a 2-1 record last week and earned her first career double-double with 21 kills and 14 digs, both career-highs.
- Katie Swenson moved into fifth in sophomore season records with 112 assists last week. She stands with 584 assists this season.
Soccer (6-2-1 / 2-2-1 MIAA)
- Northwest heads to Central Missouri Thursday before welcoming No. 4 Nebraska-Omaha to Bearcat Pitch Saturday.
- Kira Lazenby posted her fifth shutout of the season to break the program record in a 0-0 tie with Missouri Western Sept. 25. She's tied for the conference lead in shutouts with UCM's Lauren Bamvakais.
- It's the first meeting with Nebraska-Omaha since 2004 and the first time playing the Mavericks in Maryville since 2000.
Women's Cross Country
- After a break last weekend, the Bearcat women's cross country team travels to Stillwater, Okla., for the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree Oct. 4. Races begin from OSU Cross Country Course at 8 a.m.
- In the last trip to the Cowboy Jamboree in 2004, the women finished fourth of 17 teams.
- At the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational Sept. 20, Northwest finished 15th of 21 college division teams, lead by Jane Bowness with 25:19.1 in the 6K race.
Golf
- Northwest hosts the two-day Bearcat Fall Classic Oct. 2-3 at Mozingo Lake Golf Course before traveling to the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational Oct. 5-6.
- The Bearcats finished fifth at the William Jewell Women's Invitational Sept. 25-26. Freshman Megan Chaney led Northwest with a 16th overall finish, shooting a 184 in 36 holes.
- Jessica Feuerbach holds a narrow lead in the season stroke count with 374 total strokes through 72 holes. Chaney has 375 strokes.
Women's Tennis
- Northwest wraps up its fall season at the ITA South Central Regional Tournament at Abilene, Texas, Oct. 3-5.
- The winner of the singles and doubles tournaments advance to the ITA Small College Championships Oct. 16-19 in Mobile, Ala.
- Lisa Pendrak is 8-1 in singles during the fall season and won flights four, five and six at the Washburn Invitational Tournament Sept. 19-20.
- Pendrak and Veronica Castilla won the doubles flight at Washburn and are 2-0 as a team this season.
