No. 9 Football (1-1 / 0-0 MIAA)
- Northwest begins the MIAA season at home against Missouri Western Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.
- The Bearcats have won four straight against the Griffons by an average margin of 13.8 (since 2004).
- Northwest carries a 21-game win streak against MIAA opponents (includes two playoff games).
- Northwest scored on nine of its 11 possessions against Southwest Baptist last weekend and recorded five sacks for a 63-28 victory.
Volleyball (2-6 / 0-0 MIAA)
- The Bearcats travel to New York for the first time in program history for the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational. The invitational will be the final tuneup before the start of conference play Sept. 17.
- All three teams are first-time opponents for the Bearcats and all three were NCAA tournament participants last season.
- Sara Falcone hit .379 at the Missouri Southern Invitational last weekend, including a .526 performance against Dallas Baptist Sept. 6.
Soccer (4-0 / 0-0 MIAA)
- Northwest begins the MIAA schedule with two games on the road, heading to No. 16 Truman Sept. 11 and Missouri Western Sept. 13.
- The Bearcats are unbeaten (5-0-1) against the Griffons all-time.
- The Bearcats moved to 4-0 for the first time in program history with a win against Wayne State Sept. 7 and are on a school-record five-game winning streak.
- Andrea Tritz became the first Bearcat to score in four consecutive games after a goal in the 49th minute against Wayne State. She leads the MIAA in game-winning goals and ranks in the top five in goals, shots and shots on goal.
Golf
- The second season of women's golf begins Sept. 8 at the Drury Fall Shootout at Murder's Rock Golf and Country Club in Hollister, Mo.
- Jessica Feuerbach will be the top returner after averaging 90.7 strokes from last season. She finished in the top three in three meets last season.
Men's Cross Country
- Northwest won the Bearcat/Spoofhound Open with a perfect team score of 15.
- T.R. Pursell finished first for Northwest and second overall on the four-mile course, running 21:23.1.
- The Bearcats will be off this weekend before heading to Lincoln, Neb., for the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational Sept. 20.
Women's Cross Country
- The Bearcats finished first of three teams in the Bearcat/Spoofhound Open with a perfect score of 15.
- Angela Adams finished third overall in her collegiate debut to lead Northwest with 20:34.3
- The women will be off this weekend and will travel with the men to the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational Sept. 20.
