Kingsville upsets top-ranked Northwest
Texas A&M-Kingsville held top-ranked Northwest Missouri State to 189 yards of total offense in a 16-7 win Thursday night at Bearcat Stadium in the season opener for both teams.

Photo opportunities will be plentiful before Northwest Missouri State kicks off the 2010 season 6 p.m., Thursday at Bearcat Stadium against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Mel Tjeerdsma will receive the 2009 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award.
Playing a man down
Northwest Missouri State safety Marcus Martin (above) lost his father, Steve, to cancer during homecoming week last season. With his mom, Patricia, and four siblings by his side, Marcus kept moving forward and earned a national title.
