Dear Graduate:
Hello, my name is Ben Shattuck, and I serve as senior class president for the Northwest Missouri State University class of 2009. I would like to be among the first to congratulate you on the completion of your college degree. This is a very impressive achievement, and a milestone in your life that you will remember forever. During your time at Northwest I hope you took every opportunity to attend the performances, events and activities offered by the University.
As probably know, the senior class gift this year is very unique a a joint gift spanning the classes of 2005-2009. These classes have decided to join together to present Northwest with an Electronic Messaging System. This system will equip the Northwest campus with LCD message boards that will be used to inform students about upcoming events and activities on campus. In past years the University has provided many opportunities for students to attend concerts, athletic events and theatre performances. Many of you have donated your own time to plan events and activities for philanthropy, entertainment and to benefit Northwest’s rich campus environment. Northwest has prided itself on providing students with cutting edge technology since it became the first Electronic Campus in the nation in 1987. This gift will advance that tradition and help ensure that Northwest remains a benchmark institution in this area.
We hope that you will take part in honoring your graduating class by making a donation in support of this gift.
Your senior class made a tremendous impact on the University through events that you planned and took part in order to help better the Northwest community. Every class leaves a legacy, and the class of 2009 has certainly left a big one. I ask you to support your graduating class and all the good things that will remain at Northwest after we leave. In order to honor the time and commitment that our graduates have given to Northwest, we are participating in the bestowing of a gift that will continue to give back to the University for many years to come.
Included in this letter is a gift form. Please take the time to make a donation and honor the class of 2009. Any support you provide is deeply appreciated. Remember, your gift is 100 percent tax deductible. Thank you very much for your time, and again, congratulations to the class of 2009!
Sincerely,
Benjamin Shattuck, Senior Class President
