Bicycle Safety
All bicycles have the ability to be registered in a National Bike Registry database for a fee or be registered in our local database for free. The following are some helpful hints for bicycle safety:
- Ride on the right side of the roadway and with the flow of traffic.
- Ride on the street, and not on the sidewalk.
- Traffic laws apply to cyclist too.
- STOP at intersections and take your turn with other traffic.
- Pedestrians always have the right of way.
- Pay attention to your surroundings.
- Cycling is not allowed in buildings and off stairways, picnic tables, benches, and retaining wall.
- Bicycles should be chained only to bicycle racks - not to sign posts, railings, or trees. Campus Safety may ticket and remove illegally parked bicycles.
