Teacher Academy

What is the Program Design?

The Academy is a year-long cohort experience, providing an opportunity to network with teachers across our region and state. Work will focus on state approved competencies which include topics such as student engagement, instructional strategies, and reflection on practices - all aligned with the Missouri State Teacher Standards. Fellows will complete a personal project which involves action research.

Participation includes monthly regional meetings August to May and two Statewide meetings in September and January. State meetings are facilitated by John Antonetti, noted researcher and author. All participants receive a complimentary copy of his book, "17,000 Classroom Visits Can't Be Wrong.”

Tuition, travel expenses (including hotel at the Statewide meetings), and substitutes will be the responsibility of the school or individual. Partial Scholarships are available to assist with program expenses.
