The staff in our residence halls are responsible for offering high quality programs and events that students may choose to attend. Toward that end, Northwest Residential Life has committed ourselves to ensuring that residents are exposed to a wide variety of programs to enhance their experience, give them a strong inventory of personal and professional skills, and make their time in our halls fun.
You will see from this downloadable model, that the primary competencies we want to expose our residents to are:
In addition to our primary competencies, Residential Life takes advantage or our three in-hall specialist positions to expand on three of our competencies. Each of our specialists are responsible for taking the competency that is respective to their position and program more fully around it to provide an extra level of development opportunities for residents. Programmed by our PERTs (Peer Educators in Residence for Technology). Each of the following subcompetencies are presented in a way to enhance technical abilities of our residents.
Programmed by our ARCHs (Academic Resource Consultant in-Hall). Each of the following subcompetencies are presented in a manner to enhance the intellectual abilities of our residents.
Programmed by our BRIDGEs (Building Relationships in Diverse Growth Environments). Each of the following subcompetencies are presented in a manner to enhance our residents appreciation and understanding in diversity, multicultural issues, and social justice.
By the end of each trimester, our goal is that residents will have multiple programs offered on every competency and subcompetency in their residence hall. To that end, it is your challenge to take advantage of these opportunities.
