This self-assessment has been created to provide all types of organizations a tool to evaluate performance and, more importantly, identify the next steps to take in the journey to performance excellence.
The multiple-choice questions are based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) Criteria for Performance Excellence, which has been guiding top-level organizations in the United States since 1988. The Baldrige Criteria has been a proven management tool with national award recipients displaying outstanding bottom-line results.
The questionnaire has been divided into the seven Baldrige Criteria Categories -- Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Information, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Human Resource Focus, Process Management and Organizational Results. This assessment enables all organizations along the path to performance improvement to develop a comprehensive understanding of their current performance and how to improve.
The value of conducting this assessment comes from using a proven, nationally-recognized set of criteria that provide an objective guide to assist you in identifying the next steps toward performance excellence. After completing the assessment, a score and top-level feedback will be generated to define the strengths of your organization upon which to continue to build and opportunities for improvement upon which to focus your improvement activity.
The Navigator is a joint effort between Northwest Missouri State University and the Excellence in Missouri Foundation (EIMF).
