9P1. How do you create, prioritize, and build relationships with the: educational institutions and other organizations from which you receive your students? educational institutions and employers that depend on the supply of your students and graduates that meet these organization’s requirements? organizations that provide services to your students? education associations, external agencies, consortia partners, and the general community with whom you interact?
9P2. How do you ensure the varying needs of those involved in these relationships are being met?
Northwest’s ensures needs of our partners are met via shared governance and the use of cross-functional teams. These structures provide key groups with input and feedback processes. Also, embedded within the SSPP are the processes meant to ensure we reliably identify, validate, and assess our partners’ needs. For example, formative (e.g., comment cards) and summative assessments (e.g., satisfaction surveys) provide Northwest with feedback and outline opportunities for improvement.

9P3. How do you create and build relationships within your institution? How do you assure integration and communication across these relationships?
The SSPP serves as the common thread as we interact with our suppliers, partners, and collaborators. Key service partners are also apprised of communications through their integrated position in the Northwest Leadership System.

9P4. What measures of building collaborative relationships do you collect and analyze regularly?
The following measures are collected and analyzed at least annually:
- Student Satisfaction Data – this survey is part of the institutional dashboard
- Staff Satisfaction Data – this survey is part of the institutional dashboard
- Faculty Satisfaction Data - this survey is part of the institutional dashboard
- Qualitative and Quantitative data gathered through Comment Card System – this is analyzed on an annual basis and presented to the Cabinet for review
- Junior Class Survey - this is part of the academic dashboard
- Assessment of High School (Feeder) Satisfaction – this is being integrated into the Building Bridges action project
- Alumni Outcomes Assessment – this assessment is co-reviewed and analyzed by the Alumni Association and the University Advancement Division
In addition, an advisory board of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) has been formed recently: this advisory board consists of the two academic deans, two faculty representatives, the university general counsel, the director of the Small Business and Technology Development Center, and the executive director of the Nodaway County Economic Development Board. They periodically collect regional economic development data as they review the CIE mission and related statements and tenant applications.
