Northwest Missouri State University

Master of Science in Education

Health and Physical Education

This degree is designed to stretch the Master's candidate and increase skills and knowledge in the profession. By so doing, the candidate becomes a person capable of handling responsibilities above and beyond those possessed by undergraduate degree holders. This broadens career choices to include those available to undergraduate students plus administrative and Master teacher opportunities.  Increased responsibilities, prestige and commensurate pay scales are the normal results. Master's candidates need to complete 11 courses, a research component and comprehensive exams to graduate. This may be achieved in as few as 3-4 trimesters.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 2.75 GPA on undergraduate transcript
  • Minimum score of 700 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE
  • GRE Writing Assessment must have 3.5 or higher
  • Complete Approved Program Form with advisor
