This degree is designed to stretch the Master's candidate and increase skills and knowledge in the profession. By so doing, the candidate becomes a person capable of handling responsibilities above and beyond those possessed by undergraduate degree holders. This broadens career choices to include those available to undergraduate students plus administrative and Master teacher opportunities. Increased responsibilities, prestige and commensurate pay scales are the normal results. Master's candidates need to complete 11 courses, a research component and comprehensive exams to graduate. This may be achieved in as few as 3-4 trimesters.
