Education Specialist

The Department of Educational Leadership offers the Specialist in Education program, which offers study beyond the master's degree for persons preparing for positions in educational administration and supervision. The three areas of specialization are:

The Educational Leadership programs at Northwest have been recognized as innovative and outstanding by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These programs have also been reviewed and accredited by NCATE and DESE.

Admissions Requirements

The Department of Educational Leadership at Northwest Missouri State University has a rich history of producing highly qualified candidates for Missouri school districts.

  • Graduate cumulative GPA of 3.25
  • GRE of 750 on the verbal and quantitative sections and at least a 4 on the writing sample section if less than two years certified teaching experience in an accredited school OR departmental assessment (given locally at no cost)
  • Three letters of reference
