Northwest Missouri State University

"I chose Northwest for my graduate degree because I knew that I would get the same quality education that I got from Northwest for my undergraduate degree. When I left Northwest I truly felt prepared to enter the classroom and now I have gained additional knowledge that I can use in my classroom every day. I am and will continue to be 'Once a Bearcat, always a Beacat'."

Allison Kreifels

"The reason I chose Northwest Missouri State University's Alternative Certification Program was that it came highly recommended by a respected colleague with whom I work. I entered the program because I thought it was a great way to earn graduate credit and also receive a professional certificate that I can use for a lifetime."

"My experience with Northwest and the staff in St. Joseph, Maryville and Liberty have left me feeling confident and empowered. I would highly recommend the Alternative Certification program through Northwest. They prepare you for real life experiences that you will encounter in the future job. I have no regrets and look forward to continuing my educational learning through Northwest."

Outreach endeavors to assist districts and organizations to provide a rigorous yet meaningful way for participants to receive graduate or undergraduate credit for their participation and implementation and on-going application of their learning from the professional development.

Through dual credit, high school students can earn college credit from Northwest Missouri State University while still in high school. Currently, all of these courses are taught at the home high school by high school faculty. We are piloting online course offerings taught by high school instructors.
