The focus on supporting student learning by Northwest Missouri State University’s B.D. Owens Library continues Friday, Nov. 6, when it hosts its 20th annual Brick and Click academic library conference.

This one-day conference draws library professionals from across the nation to discuss and explore reaching with diverse populations, practical solutions and peer-reviewed presentations about student engagement, nextgen catalogs, collection development, digital projects, fake news, activity-based teaching, information literacy, university archives, customer service and administration.

“Hosting the Brick and Click conference annually allows B.D. Owens Library and Northwest Missouri State University to provide library practitioners access to quality programming and educational content,” Dr. Lea Briggs, the library director at Northwest, said. “Brick and Click meets a need in the profession. Producing the event online in a global pandemic also adds an extra layer to the opportunities our staff have for growing their conference planning, organization and management skills.”  

The B. D. Owens Library promotes and supports the evolving scholarship, learning and practice of the Northwest community. It facilitates intellectual growth by providing relevant research collections, tools, services and inclusive spaces.
