Dec. 21, 2017
Northwest Missouri State University students of all majors are invited to audition for Mainstage and student-directed Lab Series productions for Theatre Northwest’s spring season, including the University’s biennial musical “Footloose: The Musical.”
Theatre Northwest’s 2017-2018 season, under the theme “Identity,” continues this spring with “A Spring Evening of One-Acts,” Feb. 2-3; “Still Life with Iris” by Steven Dietz, Feb. 22-25; and “Time Stands Still” by Donald Margulies, April 20-21; in addition to “Footloose,” April 5-7.
Students auditioning for “Footloose” should prepare for a 15-minute audition that includes up to two minutes of singing.
An accompanist will be provided and students must bring their own sheet music in the key they wish to sing. Recorded accompaniments also may be used, but students must bring their own CD players or computers.
Students will also present two contrasting monologues of no more than two minutes in length (required for theatre majors) or one monologue of no more than two minutes. Monologues will be provided for non-theatre majors at the audition.
Audition forms are available in Room 101 of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building and in the theatre graduate office at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. Students should bring four completed copies of the forms to their audition.
Students should sign up for an audition time at https://goo.gl/forms/eNrD75z63OcbPXoZ2 and arrive in the Charles Johnson Theater lobby 15 minutes prior to your audition time.
For more information, contact Lydia at S527874@nwmissouri.edu.
All other auditions will require one contemporary comedic monologue and one contemporary dramatic monologue, under two minutes total; readings will be provided, if necessary. Callbacks will consist of cold readings.
Audition times and locations for each production are provided below. Students may sign up for audition times on the callboard behind the Mary Linn Auditorium in the Houston Center.
Students interested in technical and crew positions should contact Pat Immel, associate professor of theatre, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
