Two staff members of Northwest Missouri State University’s Office of Institutional Research were recognized by the Mid-America Association for Institutional Research (MidAIR) with the 2016 Best Presentation Award.
Alex Cruz and Mary Ann Penniston delivered their winning presentation, “IR Survival Solution: Provide Self-Service Access to Academic Program Review Data,” during the organization’s 36th Annual MidAIR Conference last year in Kansas City, Missouri.
The presentation showcased the institutional research office’s creation of a dashboard for academic program data in response to a strategic initiative at Northwest to conduct annual program reviews.
Award recipients are selected based on evaluations submitted after the presentation, and the winners were announced Nov. 9 during the 37th annual conference in Kansas City.
Penniston retired from Northwest in June, after 12 years with the University, as its director of institutional research. Cruz joined the institutional research office in 2012 and is a senior data analyst.
MidAIR is a regional organization representing institutional researchers in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
