Northwest Missouri State University students of all majors are invited to audition for Mainstage and student-directed Lab Series productions for Theatre Northwest’s fall season.
Theatre Northwest’s 2017-2018 season, under the theme “Identity,” features eight productions beginning with “A Fall Evening of One-Acts,” Sept. 15-16. The annual Freshman/Transfer Showcase is Oct. 5-8 when this year’s students’ stage “Landscapes of the Mind.”
Theatre Northwest will present “Footloose” as its biennial musical April 5-7.
The remainder of the season includes “Rumors” by Neil Simon, Nov. 9-12; “Stop Kiss” by Diana Son, Dec. 1-2; “A Spring Evening of One-Acts, Feb. 2-3; “Still Life with Iris by Steven Dietz, Feb. 22-25; and “Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies, April 20-21.”
Information about each production and auditions is provided below. All auditions will take place in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. Students may sign up for audition times on the callboard behind the Mary Linn Auditorium in the Houston Center.

Freshman/Transfer Show, 6 p.m. Auditions are open to all first-year students, regardless of major. Readings will be provided, and no prepared monologues are required. Students should bring class and work schedules.
“Rumors” and “Stop Kiss,” 6 to 8 p.m. for returning students, 8 to 9 p.m. for freshmen and transfer students. Requires one contemporary comedic monologue and one contemporary dramatic monologue under two minutes total. Callbacks will consist of cold readings.
