Sport, exercise psychology researchers seeking volunteers for study

A Northwest Missouri State University faculty member and student are seeking volunteers to participate in a four-week mindfulness study this spring.

The research is being conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Linda Sterling, coordinator of Northwest’s sport and exercise psychology program, and Nicole Harnisch, a graduate student in the University’s sport and exercise psychology program.

Participants receive a free, 30-day subscription to a mindfulness app; a 10-minute test at the beginning and end of a 30-day period; and participation in four weekly Mindfulness Monday meetings.

The study is accepting community members as well as Northwest students, faculty and staff.

Interested participants should complete a brief survey at by Wednesday, Feb. 1, to be considered for the study.
