Elementary education students and faculty at Northwest Missouri State University-Kansas City hosted a morning of “Winter Fun For Everyone” Dec. 10 as the Northland Innovation Campus in Gladstone, Missouri.
Children participated in a variety of activities that included story time stations, snowballoon fights, snowflake scratch art and snow-themed sensory bins.
Midcontinent Public Library in Independence, Missouri, sponsored a table and gave books to all children who attended.
Northwest-Kansas City supports students enrolled in Northwest’s bachelor’s degree completion programs in business management, marketing, elementary education and special education. It also offers dual credit coursework through its partnership with Northland CAPS as well as professional education graduate degrees.
The Northland Innovation Campus in Gladstone, which serves as the home of Northwest-Kansas City, was completed in August 2016 as part of a partnership with the city and North Kansas City Schools. It recently received the 2016 Excellence in Design Award from Design-Build Institute of America’s Mid-America Region (DBIA-MAR).
