The Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) is now accepting applications for Journey to College Student Ambassadors. The department needs 10 college freshman and sophomores to appear in publications and short videos produced by the department to provide information about planning and paying for college to thousands of high school students across Missouri.
MDHE is looking for a variety of students – male and female, urban and rural, first-generation, nontraditional, and veterans – to share their stories about why they decided to attend college and how they planned for higher education.
A photo shoot and videotaping session will be Sunday, Sept 25, in Columbia, Missouri. A rain date is set for Sunday, Oct. 2. Students will be provided a $100 stipend after the photo shoot and videotaping to cover their travel expenses. Lunch will be provided.
Students also may be invited to participate in future panel discussions with the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. These events have not yet been scheduled and are optional, based on students’ availability and interest in participating. The application deadline is Monday, Sept. 5.
