Northwest Missouri State University has announced on-campus interviews with three candidates who are finalists for its vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Open forums with each candidate are scheduled from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on all three days in the J.W. Jones Student Union. All employees are invited to attend.

Northwest’s Board of Regents on April 29 unanimously approved the addition of a vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. The addition of the position, University leaders said, is one outcome of research, analyzing data and conversations with students, faculty, staff and community members.
The vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion will report to the University president, have a seat with the University’s leadership team and be charged with leading Northwest’s vision and planning for diversity, equity and inclusion, including professional development, assessment and outreach efforts.

Chassity has three years of experience as the director of the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives at the University of Kentucky. She serves as the diversity trainer where she develops, coordinates and delivers cultural competency training for students, faculty and staff. She also serves as an adjunct instructor of academic orientation to help new students transition to university life by assisting them with building a strong foundation of academic success. She holds degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, Murray State University and Western Kentucky University.
Donette has 19 years of higher education experience relating to diversity, equity and inclusion. She has presented at multiple workshops and conferences about diverse topics. She serves as the diversity consultant at Arkansas Tech University. Donette holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Rockhurst University and Kansas Newman College.
Juanita has 21 years of experience as a faculty member, public school administrator and public high school faculty member combined. She has also published seven journal articles relating to leadership and diversity in education, a book about educational leadership and presented about leadership and diversity at multiple conventions, conferences and workshops. She serves as associate professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Juanita holds degrees from the University of Texas-Austin and Midwestern State University.
