As the school year winds down and students are moving away for the summer, Northwest Missouri State University wants students to “think green” before tossing belongings into a trash container during the annual Big Green Move Out through Monday, May 2.
Bins are stationed at every residence hall for students to leave clothes and other belongings they might otherwise throw away.
Students also may place donations in blue bins, sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County, located at the north Dollar General, Walmart, Hy-Vee and Sutherlands. For large pickups, students should call 660.254.1665.
Big Green Move Out is sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County, St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Northwest Residence Hall Association, The Ministry Center, Bearcats Going Green and Northwest.
Individuals interested in donating furniture items should call 816.279.5607 to schedule a pickup. St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity ReStore will pick up items Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29. Acceptable furniture items include:
